numbered update of sorts..
So. An update.
1. Before I left Boston, there was a pair of House Finches (look them up on google if you must) attempting to nest in the space between my screen and the glass part of my bedroom window (the window opened up a great deal, they weren't stuck or anything)... Unfortunately because I was leaving and maintenence would probably destroy the nest if I left the window open, I had to close the window. Better that they never really got started on the nest. :( A video of the birds will be posted soon.
2. Finally back in la. yay!
3. Tequila night with the girls. Oh holy fuck. Had too many margaritas last night and am not entirely sure what happened in terms of my drunk texting and Natalie and Rosie taking my phone from me and texting people. *grumble* So if you got a retarded text message, apologies. It might not even been me that typed it. Pictures will be posted...
4. Watched fucking Cloverfield. Again. CLOVERFIELD = AWESOME. Neville Page is my hero and I want a chihuahua sized Clover for a pet.
5. It's hideous and still about 80 degrees outside and its past 10pm.
6. Packing everything when I moved back home for the summer was a huge pain in the ass. I had to ship a ton of stuff home, I had to leave a bunch of it with Katrina AND I still almost went over the weight limit of 50 lbs a suitcase with my GIANT luggage. My luggage is so large, the one suitcase is so gigantic that Maynard James Keenan could probably fit quite comfortably inside it. Still waiting for one more box to arrive because I didn't ship it 2-3 day Priority mail... and it's the box with my swimsuit in it. Go figure. i'm a retard apparently.
7. Going to a wedding tomorrow. Really want to wear both my Manolo Blahniks and my dress from Anthropologie but they don't go well together SO I will have to choose one or the other. If I wear the dress I don't know what shoes I'll wear though.
Okay nobody reads this so I'm leaving and reading the Meathead Perspective.

ironman and such
review board tomorrow morning at 9. really nervous because i don't like talking about my stuff in front of total strangers. i dont like talking about mystuff in front of my friends and family, so total strangers just make it worse. they want everything to MEAN something. what does this MEAN. it has to thave some deep meaning... no it doesn't. i just think it looks cool so fuck you. i may bullshit my reasons on the spot just so you will leave me alone. AND WHY ISN'T MYSPACE WORKING. *fidgets in seat*
katrina is fucking awesome and let me use her r1800 (epson printer) to print out my photography stuff since the school not only makes you buy the paper but charges you like 2.50 a print. which is a load of shit.
watched the 112th Boston marathon today and i was about 1 block away from the finish line. pretty rad. robert cheriuyot is my new hero. He's only really been running marathons since 2002. gave me a lot of hope that i can train for LA for next year and when i'm 25, be able to have run two or three more to qualify for Boston. (qualifying for boston means a time of 3:40made me even more inspired to start training for a marathon. i'm trying to convince my siblings to help me convince my dad to train for Ironman. Maybe not the Ironman World Championship in Kona but some triathlon nonetheless.
If you don't know about Ironman... This is how it goes:
SWIM 2.4 miles
BIKE 112 miles
and then after you're finished with that
RUN 26.2 (a marathon)
personally i think whoever runs and/or wins this race deserves to wear a shirt that says "i'm the most badass motherfucker on the planet" like every day for the rest of their life. no joke. you are a TOTAL badass if you can run a marathon but run a marathon AND bike AND swim in like 9 hours?????? seriously. I will personally make a shirt that says "im totally the most badass person on the planet" for anyone who competes in Ironman.
i'm going to bed now...

quick. angry. hurt.
I just want to go home. Why can't today be Thursday already? I hate Boston so badly right now. I want to be with my family.
I want to be with my friends. Not the people who seem like friends until they are called upon for something apparently so insignificant like a going away breakfast, and they dont show up or even call to say they can't make it.
Bravo, assholes. Bravo. Thanks for making me feel insignificant and retarded. I hope you feel guilty for it, because you should because you are so selfish and thoughtless. Have fun being selfish when you're alone someday with nobody around because you finally fucked it up big time.
This is basically not just about today, but about every single time someone has ever decided that I'm not worth shit. Well fuck you too. You don't deserve my time.

weird moment #249587230948
the weirdest thing happened to me last week:
i was in the elevator in my apartment building heading up to the 6th floor (my floor of residence) and the elevator emergency call phone system thing starts RINGING. then it automatically picked up and it was one of those automated telemarketer things about reducing your mortgage costs.... i swear to all things holy and pure that this is just wrong. when telemarketers start getting access to private emergency lines..... wtf?! the world is gone to weirdness.
also i'd like to point out that the molasses cookies at starbucks are tasty.
kate
ps: I HATE BASEBALL SEASON IN BOSTON. loud obnoxious people and i live like a mile from Fenway.... *scoffs*

really old picture
According to my dad's uncle/cousin somebody, Bob (the oldest living Davis relative), this is my great grandfather on my dad's side. James Turner Davis.
random.
Wish I knew more. Like, back a lonnnng time ago. 'Cuz... I already know a whole hell of a lot about my grandmothers (dad's mom) side. Like, I know they settled in Connecticut in the 1600s and somehow ended up in Georgia in the 1800s. I know that four or five grandfathers ago on that side was Cherokee.... i';m tired, i've had a stressful day and now i'm rambling. I just wish i knew more.

nothing compares to the southwest
This week has been really tough. Just totally brutal. ugh.
However, I did buy the Ashes Divide album on Weds, so that helped. Watched Life as a House on Tuesday night- such a good movie. I don't watch it but maybe every 2 years so... yeah. Thursday- ohmygod the weather was AMAZING. It was 73, sunny, not a cloud in the sky with a light breeze. Yesterday it just got ugly. It ALWAYS rains on fridays here. Or it snows. Rain or snow or some sort of precipitation on friday.
MarioKart Wii
I really want a nintendo wii, JUST so i can waste endless hours of my life playing mariokart. i basically did that already, back in middle school when i had my n64- because mariokart 64 still is the best fucking thing EVER. But now that mariokart wii is coming out... i dont know... mariokart 64 may just not be the coolest thing ever because in mariokart wii, there are DIRTBIKES and flying cars and crazy shit that i'm not even sure if i saw in the games' trailer. andddd yeah.
yeah. that's what i did last night: ate dinner at Jason & Katrina's house and played mariokart 64 on the wii. because we're adults and so fucking sophisticated and awesome that we played mariokart for an hour.
oh and i also watched some sex & the city last night too.
Today I woke up late, got coffee, went for a walk and realized i was overdressed for the weather. at 3 i went to lunch at this fabulous little wine cafe, Piattini (www.piattini.com). If you're in the Boston area, you should check this place out. I had artichoke & marscapone cheese ravioli with Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc (2002 Chile).... good wine, good food.
word. okay enough of my rambling.

april showers bring.. sun????
Saw a film tonight at the MFA.
Waiting For Heaven (Cenneti beklerken
It's part of the Boston Turkish Film & Music Festival that's going on right now. For some reason I am absolutely fascinated and in love with Turkey and all things Turkish. Don't ask. It's a beautiful language and I loved watching this film a lot just because I got to hear people speaking Turkish for 2 hours, which doesn't happen in my everyday life. Anyway. Doubt that any of you will get a chance to see this, but if you do... watch it!
That said... I don't know if I have anything else to say. I've been going to the gym every day, 7 days a week for.... 10 days in a row now. And I've lost almost 10 pounds. yay. OH and I bought my Linkin Park tickets for Projekt Revolution '08 comin this August. weeeee
I miss the ocean. We have the ocean here but it's not the same. It's cold and there's no beach. If you drive to the Cape there's beach area but... um, Spring in New England = mayyybe 50 degrees outside if you're lucky.
uhhh what else.. I bought a new lotion at Whole Foods. It's coconut and it smells good. Oh, and it's organic, wheat & gluten free, vegan and $10. Desert Esesence Organics.
wow. what a gripping life I do lead. *yawn & blank stare*
cheers,
kate
ps: i got laughed at today at work by my supervisor because i was apparently really into playing a game on my iPod and must've had a really determined look on my face. *facepalm* yes. i'm a nerd. shut up.
