HAHAHAHAHA
oh my god this is too much. After two years of reading about Turkey, after learning about so many things about it, this is very amusing: watching Andrew Zimmern (Bizarre Worlds/Bizarre Foods) oil wrestling is beyond funny. Too bad it wasn't cirit racing stuff... that would have been funny as he probably would fall off the horse. How about camel fighting? I care too much. It just fucking fascinates me.
They're making bird noises. very cool. An entire language based on whistling.
I CANT WAIT TO GO TO TURKEY.. in like 2 years.
yes. that's what i have to say about that.
Also, rat poison is EVIL. whoever came up with it was a sick fuck. it could have fucking been the unibomber for the amount of crazy shit going on in how the animals die.
Anyway back to watching about Istanbul...

they're busy building toys, absolutely no one's dead!
I'm only 21 and already an old maid. Woohoo! Where my 25 cats at yo?
currently reading:The Namesake
^^ really great book. highly recommend it.
Wow yoga kicked my ass last night. Lots of holding my arms up for longer periods of time than I can physically do. My shoulders are weak and have problems. Go me! Oh, and the yoga instructor says he's coming to class next friday (halloween) wearing a costume... very scary.
Applied at Lululemon Athletica for another job. Interesting place with great clothes.
I'm getting my hair did today. Does anyone actually remember where that phrase comes from? I do. From some cheesy Missy Elliot rap song from like 8 billion years ago. Wow 8 billion years, you say? Yeah damn straight the dinosaurs were getting their hair did, too. All sorts of fun hair styles. lol. On that note..
Problem with my imagination no. 1834987: picturing dinosaurs with elvis hair and do-rags.
Anyway. I wish I had a reason to dress up for halloween. I can remember most of the costumes I've had in my life.. let's see..
7yrs: pink power ranger! lol.. 8 yrs: Honey Bunches of Oats cereal box!!!! best ever. 9 yrs: retard chef? 10yrs: I Dream of Jeannie. i had the weird see-thru pants and funky hat and i was so self-conscious. 11, 12 & 13 i don't remember... 14: snowboarder.. 15yrs: i think it was the year i wore bright yellow pants and my Kobe Bryant jersey lol... 16:? 17: i dont have a clue why but i dressed up as a ghetto beanie-wearing prostitute. 18: trent reznor!!!!!!! from the Starfuckers Inc video. i even spent $100 on a leather coat and had crazy blue eye makeup. 19: the female version of frank iero! haha i bought stilettos and i looked cute.
that's it. didn't dress up last year. i think my top faves are the 1) cereal box & 2) trent reznor.
it's the season of Jack Skellington! yayyyy

musical thoughts
currently listening to: Treze diferencias de Canario (album: Anthology of Spanish Music)
Honestly, classical music is pretty much the best thing at night. It allows me to have my own quiet thoughts without thinking. There's no thought process, as some more intense music requires of me. Not all classical music, obviously, but it's that way with any music. Well, other than Nine Inch Nails or Tool or something. There's way too much energy there. Either that or it's too g'damn depressing and there's no way I can have my pre-sleep relaxing time with Maynard James Keenan screaming for 30 seconds straight, or Trent Reznor singing the most hollow sad song ever (And All That Could Have Been) amazing though it may be.
Speaking of El Queso (trent reznor's code name due to my own stupidty of trying to text and walk to class), he seems like he's mellowed out a bit, which disturbs me. I mean it makes me glad that he's happy, because nobody should be depressed their whole life- believe me, I know. But still... what's next, Trent singing 'Peace Love and Understanding'?? Speaking of which, the A Perfect Circle cover of that song is seriously the most amazing shit on the planet.
On that note, here's a list, albeit random, of some of my all-time favorite songs.
1. Peace, Love and Understanding - A Perfect Circle (eMotive)
2. And All That Could Have Been - Nine Inch Nails (Still)
3. Anytime - Brian McKnight
4. I Know - Fiona Apple (When the Pawn..)
5. Change (In The House of Flies) - Deftones [White Pony]
6. Levon - Elton John (Madman Across the Water) --- LOL anyone who has ever been in my car knows I will force you to listen to this while I sing horribly and loudly. lmfao.
7. Running on Faith - Eric Clapton (Unplugged)
8. Walkin' Blues - Eric Clapton (Unplugged) -- most amazing shit ever.
9. Not About Love - Fiona Apple (Extraordinary Machine)
10. The Eagles - Howard Shore feat. Renee Fleming - The Return of the King soundtrack. --- note: Renee Fleming's voice is AMAZING on this song. It's soul penetrating perfection and for some reason it always makes me cry.
11. Learn You Inside Out - Lifehouse (Who We Are)
12. The Cool, Cool River - Paul Simon (Rhythm of the Saints)
part two of this list will be posted another time...
adios

i can has blackberry bold?
Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shephard meet shephard
But you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate
Good song.
Just got home from work. I don't enjoy working with certain people so that definitely stresses me out more than I'd like. I haven't gone for a run in a week to let my achilles tendons relax and now my back feels like shit. I have to do a painting of a brick wall tomorrow. *eyebrows raised*
I want a new phone. Mine is acting weird.

no sleaze please
I don't want to meet your kin,
Make you spin or do you in,
Or select you or dissect you,
Or inspect you or reject you.
All I really want to do
Is, baby, be friends with you.
I don't want to fake you out,
Take or shake or forsake you out,
I ain't lookin' for you to feel like me,
See like me or be like me.
All I really want to do
Is, baby, be friends with you.
Bob Dylan, 'All I Really Want To Do'
Wise words from the poet of poets. WHo somehow is not really a poet... ANYWAY.
what is it with guys and innuendo? just curious. i mean, i can laugh at a dirty joke same as the next person but i don't go around constantly assuming innuendo. i was having this conversation with my friend Ryan today, who generally says amusing and always non-innunedo type things. He's cool that way.
I have so much camembert left in my fridge. >_>
Oh I'd also like to express my joy that Leanne won Project Runway!!!!!! yay! Kenley just has a bad attitude.. AND THOSE FUCKING PANTS. OH JESUS THOSE WERE SO AWFUL.
Need to go to the gym errrrghhhhh. Rereading Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, so if start writing like book, full apologies. Is v. easy to write like that. See? Have already done it.
Was at coffee shop in Studio City today with a friend and the person who took my order was the person who owns the piercing place where got lip pierced three years ago. Weird. LA is somehow smushed though not sure how. Hmm..
going to gym now as is too awful outside to go for long run.
cheers

i shall be free no. 10
Feel like
A ghost in love
Underneath
The heavens above
Feel further away
Then I ever did before
Feel further
Than I can take
Dreamin' of you
That's all I do
But it's
Driving me insane
-Bob Dylan, Dreamin' of You
This new Dylan song has surfaced on his website, so I downloaded it. I really like it. The lyrics sound a lot like a song off of Time Out of Mind (specifically Standin In the Doorway). And, after having just checked my iTunes library, I know that it's GOT to be an alternate version of the song because a bunch of the lyrics are the same.
my cat is adorable. he likes to sleep on things we tell him not to. like the boxes in the above photo, which were the remaining things left in boston that katrina shipped to me. *hugs kitteh*
oh. and today, after having a conversation with a good friend about fanny packs and how much i can't stand them, i saw a portly old man wearing one at the post office. i couldn't help but giggle. so friend, if you're reading this, this sentence was for you. ha.
going to go listen to cheesy celtic music and get down with my irish roots.oh and apparently i found out today that mom's family is related to john adams, the president from a long time ago.

ghosts 24 sounds like a chase scene in a 80s movie
There's a whole lot of people suffering tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Whole lot of people struggling tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Comes right down the highway,
Straight down the line,
Rips into your senses
Through your body and your mind.
Nothing about it that's sweet,
The disease of conceit.
There's a whole lot of hearts breaking tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of hearts shaking tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Steps into your room,
Eats your soul,
Over your senses
You have no control.
Ain't nothing too discreet
About of disease of conceit.
There's a whole lot of people dying tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of people crying tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Comes right out of nowhere
And you're down for the count
From the outside world,
The pressure will mount,
Turn you into a piece of meat,
The disease of conceit.
Conceit is a disease
That the doctors got no cure
They've done a lot of research on it
But what it is, they're still not sure
There's a whole lot of people in trouble tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of people seeing double tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Give ya delusions of grandeur
And a evil eye
Give you idea that
You're too good to die,
Then they bury you from your head to your feet
From the disease of conceit.

Disease of Conceit is one of my all time favorite Bob Dylan songs. It's incredibly sad and I've never heard anyone sing about the subject quite like it before. Conceit is a disease. We all have it. I post this blog and am conceited in thinking that it should be read and thought about. I'm also self-destructive though, so it's a little different.
In other news, (other than my being distracted about which Eric Clapton song I wish to listen to..) I had today off from school. Huzah. Also rereading The Bastard of Istanbul, which I highly recommend. I'd like to think that not the actual verbalized bastard in the story is the bastard that is written about, but the history of 1915 which some don't know and some try to erase... the history is the bastard. That makes no sense, especially out of context (since I'm probably the only person who has read the book)... ANYWAY.
Running: Injuries aside - many - I'm still trying to train. By myself. Which maybe is a little crazy. Oh well.
