screw bella and jacob, i liked the Porsche.

ahahaha because I'm a complete and total loser, I went to see New Moon this morning with a friend, and my mother (who has also read the books and hearts them). Okay, the director and screenwriter had like a bazillion pages of bitching and crying and obsession and somehow the movie turned out pretty well. Like, as far as the directing and special effects, it was cool. The special effects were neato, and the music was entertaining. My favorite parts were: the bit with the Thom Yorke song "Hearing Damage" playing loudly, and the bit with the Porsche 911 Turbo. Go figure. My favorite part would predictably be the bit with a nice car. It sounds totally lame, but I was so excited when they had the 911 driving around curves in Italy. I really envy the stunt driver of the scene because omg..... it's a fucking 911 Turbo. I mean, really, do I need to say more? I started grinning like an idiot. The whole movie could have been a stuntman driving the car through pretty flowering hills and golden fields and I would have walked out of the theatre feeling like my time had not been wasted.

I. am. SUCH. a petrolhead!!!

The sound of the engine revving gave me chills. That is how much I love cars. I LOVE LOVE LOVE cars. I love watching, complaining, blogging, drooling, wanting... I love them.

But the movie was cool. The guy who plays Jacob can be pretty funny, in a dry sort of way. Plus from what someone told me, he and I share a birthday (hes only around 18), which is cool. Aquariuses(?) unite!! Christian Bale is an Aquarius, so yeah.

off to check on my vegetables that happen to be roasting.... au revoir.

cheers.

nothing better

music: If There Is Something - Roxy Music

Apparently using anti-aging cream does well to repair sunburned skin. Who knew.

My neck is red. I am a redneck! Well, not like a chitlin-eating, beer gut fat ass living in the South drinking Coor's light and watching nascar kind of redneck. I think that kind of transformation would indicate that an alien stole my brain or something.

Trader Joe's vegan chocolate chip cookies are pretty awesome. I'm wondering if instead of the soy milk (since there's no dairy), one could substitute (or partially substitute) coconut milk..? That would be the most indulgent cholesterol-free cookie ever.

I want to transport myself into the late 70s and go to discos and watch David Bowie and wear knee-high platform purple glitter boots and crazy makeup... any glam rock stuff would do... Yeah!

I would do anything for you/ I would climb mountains
I would swim on the ocean floor
I would walk athousand miles/ Reveal my secrets
more than enough for me to share
I would put roses 'round our door/ Sit in the garden
Growing potatoes by the score

The line about the potatoes is so g'damn random it makes me laugh.

*off key clarinet solo* Fuck yeah Roxy Music!

Back to reading Pride & Prejudice....

cheers.

more sappy lyrics

currently listening to pink floyd, but here's some lyrics to a good song.

My song is love
Love to the loveless shown
And it goes on
You don't have to be alone

Your heavy heart
Is made of stone
And it's so hard to see clearly
You don't have to be on your own
You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
You're the target that I'm aiming at
Got to get that message home

My song is love
My song is love, unknown
But I'm on fire for you, clearly
You don't have to be alone
You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
You're the target that I'm aiming at
And I'm nothing on my own
Got to get that message home

And I'm not gonna stand and wait
Not gonna leave it until it's much too late
On a platform I'm gonna stand and sing
That I'm nothing on my own
And I love you, please come home

My song is love, is love unknown
And I've got to get that message home

-coldplay 'a message'

Along with "La Vie en Rose", this is another one of my favorite sappy songs. As it is the holiday season, I'm being overly emotional and all about the love songs. disturbing.

Was getting coffee and saw an adorable basenji (dog breed) and wanted to hug it, though it probably was not the same happy joyful overly excitable dog like my best friend's basenji, Ginger. Ginger is the friendliest, sweetest, most guileless dog I have ever been around. For some reason she seems to be the only dog that actually likes me. She sees me and wags her tail so hard that her entire back is moving to and fro and she almost hits herself in the head with her tail. It's adorable to watch. Plus she sleeps on the top of the couch, curled up like a cat. i heart Ginger.

Can someone please tell me what the hell I should buy for various members of my family for Christmas? Bleh. I'm not feeling very creative about gift giving this year.

i'm listening to the most non-holiday song ever- Pink Floyd's 'High Hopes'. i WIN.

thunderballs!

The best things in life are free. BUM BUM BUM you can tell that to the birds and bees i want the money its what i want

okay bad 80s music that i don't even like aside, here's some things i like that may or may not cost money.

1. Macaroni and cheese.
Yes, the kind out of the box with the powdered cheese and so much salt that your arteries may clog up and you'll die while eating it. IT WINS. I'm actually waiting for my Trader Joe's mac n cheese noodles to cook right now. cost: 2 bucks or so.

2. Hugh Jackman.
The best things in life are clearly free when I can stand in Border's book store and casually flip through the pages of People magazine to see the extremely sexy and very cool Hugh Jackman as the "sexiest man alive." Thank you People magazine for all those great photos. Besides, other than being really good looking, he's funny as hell, a fantastic actor, has adorable children and a NORMAL LOOKING NON BIMBO ESQUE wife. How fucking refreshing, eh ladies? Kudos to Hugh.

3. this is the BEST tabloid headline EVER:

LMFAO. I nearly peed myself when i came across this on google images. Whoever came up with this wins at life and deserves a pie because that title is fucking funny. poor daniel craig. i mean, he has an AMAZING AMAZING body but come on, do pictures of the man adjusting the tiny shorts need to be put in a magazine? PRICELESS.

namaste.

what about freud?

so my french teacher wins. he's this little old dude who likes to embarrass everyone. all the time.

in french, 'visiter' doesn't mean 'to visit' unless it's a place. if you say 'je visite ma mere' it means you are frisking your mother for hidden drugs or firearms. not cool. lol. unless you say 'rend visiter' in which case, you are paying someone a visit. i think that's how it goes. ANYWAY.

so 'cold' en francais is 'froid'. it's pronounced 'fhwah'. kind of. so someone said "il fait froid" but they pronounced it funny and my teacher was like, "what about Freud?" for the win!

also, when negating a sentence, you generally have to add the article 'de'. for example:
question:
Y a t-il un crocodile dans le toilette? (is there a crocodile in the bathroom?)

at first the general answer given in my class was "no il n'y a pas un crocodile dans le toilette".

m. martin: tres bizarre! then how many crocodiles are there?

that means "no there isn't ONE crocodile in the bathroom".

correct answer being:
Il n'y a pas de crocodile dans le toilette.

french class is hard but fun.
