Twilight, Pope Benedict, and the Bubonic Plague

Memo to the asshole who stalked my friend:

Fuck you, and please go rot in hell. Thanks. Eventually someone will bust a cap in your arse, and when that day comes, I hope I have a psychic flash that lets me know it happened, so I can celebrate. Nobody fucks with my friends.

/end memo.

In my physical anthropology class, my prof. was making a comment about how instantaneous evolution is imposible, and asked the class to think of its favorite "wolfman" movie. Nobody had a clue what he was saying, because apparently the population of humans is dumber than I thought. My first thought was that ridiculous Michael J Fox movie from the 80s where he's a werewolf and rides (through my hometown no less) on the top of a pimp cargo van. Only one other person apparently thought of an answer to the teacher's quandry, and voiced it loudly- "TWILIGHT!!" Oh humanity, you fail me again.

There's a whole bunch of computer cubicles in the library, but none of them are equipped with power outlets. Fail? I think so. More than that kind of fail, is my laptop battery and its' failure to be consistent, and actually function. Unfortunately I have no money, so I can't get a new battery. Oh well.

Why is it that once you leave a place, you start thinking about it with rose-colored glasses? Not every place, obviously, but some places take on the sentimental love quality that you certainly don't experience when you're living there. To be more specific, I've been thinking a lot about Boston in recent months. I think my time there would have been a whole lot easier to live through if one of my roommates hadn't been the Bubonic fucking Plague in human form. By the way, on that note, Kelly should be sanctified by the church for being the most amazing kind person ever for putting up with said human plague, and my bullshit too. So Pope Benedict, if you have the off chance of reading this tripe, keep her in mind. She's a good Catholic, and a fucking amazing person.

I think that about does it for right now...cheers.

thunderballs!

The best things in life are free. BUM BUM BUM you can tell that to the birds and bees i want the money its what i want

okay bad 80s music that i don't even like aside, here's some things i like that may or may not cost money.

1. Macaroni and cheese.
Yes, the kind out of the box with the powdered cheese and so much salt that your arteries may clog up and you'll die while eating it. IT WINS. I'm actually waiting for my Trader Joe's mac n cheese noodles to cook right now. cost: 2 bucks or so.

2. Hugh Jackman.
The best things in life are clearly free when I can stand in Border's book store and casually flip through the pages of People magazine to see the extremely sexy and very cool Hugh Jackman as the "sexiest man alive." Thank you People magazine for all those great photos. Besides, other than being really good looking, he's funny as hell, a fantastic actor, has adorable children and a NORMAL LOOKING NON BIMBO ESQUE wife. How fucking refreshing, eh ladies? Kudos to Hugh.

3. this is the BEST tabloid headline EVER:

LMFAO. I nearly peed myself when i came across this on google images. Whoever came up with this wins at life and deserves a pie because that title is fucking funny. poor daniel craig. i mean, he has an AMAZING AMAZING body but come on, do pictures of the man adjusting the tiny shorts need to be put in a magazine? PRICELESS.

ghosts 24 sounds like a chase scene in a 80s movie

There's a whole lot of people suffering tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Whole lot of people struggling tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Comes right down the highway,
Straight down the line,
Rips into your senses
Through your body and your mind.
Nothing about it that's sweet,
The disease of conceit.

There's a whole lot of hearts breaking tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of hearts shaking tonight
From the disease of conceit.
Steps into your room,
Eats your soul,
Over your senses
You have no control.
Ain't nothing too discreet
About of disease of conceit.

There's a whole lot of people dying tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of people crying tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Comes right out of nowhere
And you're down for the count
From the outside world,
The pressure will mount,
Turn you into a piece of meat,
The disease of conceit.

Conceit is a disease
That the doctors got no cure
They've done a lot of research on it
But what it is, they're still not sure

There's a whole lot of people in trouble tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Whole lot of people seeing double tonight
From the disease of conceit,
Give ya delusions of grandeur
And a evil eye
Give you idea that
You're too good to die,
Then they bury you from your head to your feet
From the disease of conceit.

Disease of Conceit is one of my all time favorite Bob Dylan songs. It's incredibly sad and I've never heard anyone sing about the subject quite like it before. Conceit is a disease. We all have it. I post this blog and am conceited in thinking that it should be read and thought about. I'm also self-destructive though, so it's a little different.

In other news, (other than my being distracted about which Eric Clapton song I wish to listen to..) I had today off from school. Huzah. Also rereading The Bastard of Istanbul, which I highly recommend. I'd like to think that not the actual verbalized bastard in the story is the bastard that is written about, but the history of 1915 which some don't know and some try to erase... the history is the bastard. That makes no sense, especially out of context (since I'm probably the only person who has read the book)... ANYWAY.

Running: Injuries aside - many - I'm still trying to train. By myself. Which maybe is a little crazy. Oh well.

Something I find very, very important

I've made political commentary in this blog before. I have, and I know it's controversial despite whether it's being read or not.

But I just really really really cannot stand Sarah Palin. She is BAD news for the environment and all animals. She's a member of the NRA (nat'l rifle assoc.), and takes place in canned hunts. (google a canned hunt if you don't know what it is, because it's just sick.) She hunts animals from helicopters and planes just because. She kills wolves and other predators in the state of Alaska to make more game available to hunt for hunters/poachers. After the current scary president added the polar bear to the endangered species list, Palin spent a whole lot of money trying to reverse the rulings. She hunts polar bears. She doesn't care that they're dying, and in fact, she'd like to see them all dead.

John Mccain.. whatever. I don't care. But Sarah Palin scares the crap out of me. She's a fucking psycho nazi gun-toting wolf-killing redneck. She is not qualified to do anything REMOTELY close to the job that she's trying to get right now.

God help us if McCain wins. It really will be the End of All Things. Horses will be slaughtered for food, cows and chickens will die for your dinners in ways that I don't want to think about, wolves and Polar bears and all wild game will be erased from history.

So please, please don't vote for her.

A Comment... or a rant

A while back on AOL music, there was a list of the sexiest songs, the sexiest musicians, etc. I remember being a little confused as to why Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" was named the number one sexiest song, and Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" was at number two. There were a whole lotta other songs on that list that WAY deserved to be number one over Marvin Gaye. Not only do I think "Let's Get It On" isn't a sexy song, I think it's a retardedly stupid song at that. I picture green shag carpet and high-waisted white polyester pants and bad sparkling wine... *shudder* Of course being a huge Trent Reznor fan, I thought that "Closer" should have been number one on that list. It's a great song. It's not a song for the faint of heart, that's for sure. It's so vulnerable and dark and powerful and, well let's be honest, incredibly freakin' sexy! You feel his pain in that song, and his reason for wanting whoever he was singing about wasn't just about the sex factor, it was like, he had a tortured soul and he was fucked up and whatever. The song as a whole.. just an amazing song. I think it's a sexy song, but I definitely understand why a lot of people wouldn't think that. Which is fine.
My list of songs is as follows:
(in no particular order except for the first song)

Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Kiss - Prince
Cold - Annie Lenox (*i know a few of my friends agree with me on this song!)
The More I See You - Michael Buble
I've Got You Under My Skin - Michael Buble
Grace - Kate Havenevik
Skip Divided - Thom Yorke
Beside You In Time - Nine Inch Nails
Swing Low - Rocco Deluca and the Burden

there's other songs... like, not sexy but sweet. But yeah. Seriously though wtf marvin gaye? no. i'll take the freakin' beach boys over marvin gaye....

I'm eating macaroni and cheese huzzah! Also, even I was shocked at the outcome of the superbowl, even though i don't give two flying squirrels about football. Silly NE Patriots. At least it was quiet last night outside my apartment! hahahaha i'm so mean... Perhaps if Tom Brady wasn't out filandering with various women (come on ladies, he's got a baby mama, how gangsta is that?) he would be a better QB. Okay that doesn't make much sense, but who said anything I say makes any sense whatsoever? mac n cheeeeese. almost typed man n cheeeese so i fixed my spelling. haha.

tata loves,
kate
